Soma Rumor

O SomaRumor - Encontro Latino Americano de Arte Sonora, é um evento bienal, iniciado em 2019, focado em criar um espaço ampliado de diálogo entre diversas expressões artísticas, com ênfase na arte sonora. Seu principal objetivo é promover a reflexão, formação e apreciação dessas práticas, estabelecendo conexões entre produções locais e globais, especialmente no contexto latino-americano. O evento reúne artistas e pesquisadores de diversos países e inclui uma programação diversificada, com seminários, debates, oficinas, residências artísticas, apresentações e mostras. A iniciativa visa tanto a pesquisa quanto a difusão da arte sonora, contribuindo para o intercâmbio e desenvolvimento deste campo artístico.

Atualmente conta com o apoio institucional da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) e Universidade Estadual de Santa Catarina (UDESC), vinculado ao PPGCA, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos Contemporâneos das Artes da Universidade Federal Fluminense, Departamento de Artes, e do Instituto de Artes e Comunicação Social. 

Nesta IV edição do SomaRumor, vamos ter a alegria de lançar a Rádio SOMA. Montaremos uma estação móvel nos entornos do IACS Campus Gragoatá - UFF Niterói, operando em ondas curtas FM durante o IV SomaRumor e com transmissão online através da plataforma Youtube. As atividades ocorrerão presencialmente na UFF (Universidade Federal Fluminense) em Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, entre 22 de setembro e 03 de outubro de 2025.

omaRumor – Latin American Meeting of Sound Art is a biennial event, launched in 2019, dedicated to creating an expanded space for dialogue among diverse artistic expressions, with an emphasis on sound art. Its main goal is to promote reflection, education, and appreciation of these practices, while establishing connections between local and global productions, particularly within the Latin American context. The event brings together artists and researchers from different countries and features a diverse program that includes seminars, debates, workshops, artistic residencies, performances, and exhibitions. The initiative is aimed both at research and the dissemination of sound art, contributing to the exchange and development of this artistic field.

It is currently supported by Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) and Universidade Estadual de Santa Catarina (UDESC), and is linked to the PPGCA – Graduate Program in Contemporary Art Studies at Universidade Federal Fluminense, Department of Arts, and the Institute of Arts and Social Communication.

In this 4th edition of SomaRumor, we are delighted to launch Rádio SOMA. We will set up a mobile station around the IACS Campus Gragoatá – UFF Niterói, broadcasting on short-range FM waves during the IV SomaRumor, along with online streaming via YouTube. Activities will take place in person at UFF (Universidade Federal Fluminense) in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from September 22 to October 3, 2025.
